Manufacturing-related tolerances during assembly cause fluctuations in the injection duration and the injection quantity in GDI injectors. The exact repetition of the closing time has a decisive influence on the quality of injectors.
Undesired fluctuations can be determined by measuring the closing time. For this purpose, the current and voltage curves are recorded during the closing phase and evaluated accordingly. In this way, conclusions can be drawn about the shot-to-shot stability of injectors.
