Sonplas has developed an innovative component – the leak dummy – which can simulate a defined leak.
For functional checks and the comparison of hydraulic leak tests (liquid leak tests) hose-connected syringe drives of the analytical technology sector are mainly used. Due to their micro-valve technology and hose lines, these are very susceptible to air inclusions, leakages and temperature influences, and are therefore difficult to control and prone to failure. Due to major space requirements, the use of these systems is also disadvantageous, especially in case the device is used for multiple stations and equipment. The Sonplas leak dummy allows to check the functional feasibility of hydraulic leak test stations. In addition, stations can be compared with one another. Customized to the relevant client component (injector), the leak dummy can be accommodated in the nest, while it is so small and flexible that it can even be placed in the station with automated handling systems.
