The Hydrogen Technology Conference & Expo (27-28 September, Bremen) is the world’s largest event on advanced technologies for the hydrogen and fuel cell industry. Sonplas will be providing information about its partnership with the technology company IAV and presenting the IAV Cross – Injection Analyser by Sonplas: a technical system for the hydraulic measurement and functional analysis of fuel injection valves. The special machine manufacturer is responsible for the sale, manufacture and maintenance of the entire product family.

Hydrogen plays an important role in clean and sustainable mobility. This is because, unlike fossil fuels, no CO2 is released when powered by green hydrogen. The gas is used, for example, in the hydrogen combustion engine or in the fuel cell. In Bremen, Sonplas will be presenting the IAV Cross – Injection Analyser by Sonplas. The system determines the injection rate via the dynamic pressure increase in a fuel-filled measuring channel – this measuring principle sets it apart from comparable devices.

The IAV Cross – Injection Analyser by Sonplas can measure both injection rates and injection quantities individually and simultaneously and display the rate signal very precisely. As the system has no moving parts, it requires little maintenance and delivers reproducible results. The measuring unit is controlled by powerful software. This is easy to operate and clearly displays all relevant information in real time. Users can also link the IAV Cross – Injection Analyser by Sonplas to their test bench software via a software interface and thus integrate it into their digital test and development environment.

This system was developed by the Berlin-based technology company IAV, which recently became a partner of Sonplas GmbH. As part of this cooperation, IAV has transferred the distribution rights for the IAV Cross – Injection Analyser to the special machine manufacturer. Sonplas is thus taking over the sale and manufacture of new devices and the maintenance of existing devices. The system has already been successfully integrated into Sonplas test benches for some time.

Various components of different sizes can be tested in the inertised thermal chamber of the hydrogen test centre. If a customer requires services that the test centre does not currently cover, it can be expanded on a modular basis.

In addition to the option of carrying out tests in Sonplas’ in-house hydrogen test centre, Sonplas also offers customers the option of purchasing a complete test centre including test bench in order to create their own hydrogen testing infrastructure. This is unique on the market. As a rule, customers do not receive a complete offer, but rather individual sections that they have to design and put together themselves. With the complete solution from Sonplas, they are on the safe side – and receive everything from a single source.
