The special machine manufacturer Sonplas has grown sustainably in recent years, and the Straubing-based company now employs more than 300 people. In addition to the growth in personnel, the portfolio has also been expanded in recent years with forward-looking assembly and testing technology for, among other things, electromobility, hydrogen and batteries. Together with the Sonplas team, the new management team of Herbert Frankl, Christian Wachtmeister and Michael Frankl intends to continue to drive this growth and the future direction of the internationally active company.

Christian Wachtmeister has been working as Head of Process and Quality Management at Sonplas GmbH since 2020 and has already been able to gain extensive experience in mechanical engineering during his previous professional positions in Germany, the USA and Asia, which he will contribute to the management and further development of the company.

Michael Frankl was involved in the company from an early age due to his family background and grew up with the company. After completing his studies in Munich, he joined the company in the commercial area and has headed the Finance and Human Resources department since the beginning of 2022. “The team is very special at Sonplas. Sonplas is more than a workplace. It’s like a home, it drives you and it’s fun. I’m looking forward to it,” Frankl said.

By expanding the management team, the company is pushing ahead to a generational change at the executive level. With the new structure and expertise, the company is well-positioned for the future and sets the course for further growth.
